Call for Oral and Poster Presentations
Concept
The overall goal of the 2008 International Grain Quality and Technology Congress is to provide a global symposium on the technical, scientific and economic opportunities and challenges involved in creating and capturing value in the grain-based food, feed, fiber and fuel supply chains. The specific objectives of this Congress are to present current research-based knowledge and information on industry practice on:
- Characterization of quality attributes and measurement technologies to quantify agronomic, quality and end use traits of cereals, oilseeds and co-products within the food, feed, fiber and bioenergy complex.
- Best management practices, systems and technologies to maintain and assure the identity, purity, integrity, consistency, quality, biosecurity and marketability of cereals, oilseeds and co-products through the supply chains from production through harvest, handling, post-harvest, and processing operations, to final end use.
- Economic assessment of measurement technologies and management practices for creating and capturing value within the food, feed, fiber and bioenergy complex.

Opportunity
This invitation is for individuals or organizations, directly involved in projects or activities related to some aspect of technical, scientific and economic opportunities and challenges involved in creating and capturing value in the grain-based food, feed, fiber and fuel supply chains, to come to Chicago and share the newest research findings and successful industry practices and/or lessons learned. Individuals will be chosen to either present their findings as a 20-30 minute oral presentation or as a poster. All individuals invited to present their findings as oral or poster presentations will also be asked to submit full-length papers of their research findings or case studies, which will be published as copy-protected PDF files as part of the on-line proceedings of this Congress.
Oral Presentations
Each individual selected to present a research project or case study will be expected to prepare a PowerPoint slide presentation for delivery in one of the plenary or break-out sessions of the Congress. It is planned that all PowerPoint presentations will be published as copy-protected PDF files as part of the on-line proceedings of this Congress.
Poster Presentations
Each individual selected to present their research project or case study in poster format will be expected to prepare a poster that is no larger than 4 feet high by 4 feet wide to be presented during the Poster Session at the Congress.
Abstracts must address one of the three objectives of the 2008 Grain Quality and Technology Congress in order to be considered.
